Thomas Alonzo Eaves, 60, a resident of Watertown, for a good part of his life, died Tuesday morning, Nov. 30, 2010, in the Mount Auburn Hospital, Cambridge, after a sudden illness.
He was born in New Waterford, N.S., and his family moved to Watertown, Mass., when he was 14 years old.
He was a graduate of Watertown High School and had worked as a stock clerk for several businesses in the area.
Mr. Eaves was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles, Pequossette Aerie 1928, in Watertown.
He was a the beloved son of the late Hazel M. (Gosbee) Eaves and John R. Eaves, Sr.; brother of Leona F. Pooley and her husband David Pooley, Cincinnati, Ohio, and John R. Eaves, Jr. and his wife Lucy M. Eaves, Watertown; and uncle of David (Debra) Pooley, John Pooley and Michael Pooley, all of Ohio.
Visitation will be held Friday, June 10 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m., with his mother Hazel, at V.J. McGillivray Funeral Home, 380 Smith St., New Waterford. Funeral service will take place Saturday, June 11 at 2 p.m. in Calvin United Church with Rev. Nancy Whitney-Latham officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Haven Memorial Gardens, Sydney.
