Caudle (Turnbull), Gayle Marie, 53, Truro, Col. Co., passed away Thursday July 4th, 2019 in the Colchester East Hants Health Centre, Truro. Born and raised in Truro, she was the daughter of Patricia (Bigsby) and the late Fred Caudle. Gayle graduated from the Aberdeen Hospital School of Nursing in 1986 and had a long career as a pediatric nurse at the Colchester Regional Hospital and Colchester East Hants Health Centre. In her spare time Gayle was a successful archer, participating in several clubs across Nova Scotia. She placed in many tournaments in the Atlantic provinces and Canada. A highlight the World Archery Championships in Las Vegas in 2012, taking 17th place. She was named Female Athlete of the Year at the Ricoh Sport Awards in 2015 and Volunteer of the Year in 2014. Her true passion was coaching others and advocating for women in sport and leadership. She coached archers young and old at all levels, as well as coaching and participating in the Canada games. Gayle was known for incredible craft work. She was talented in many forms of needlework, always taking time to create special ornaments, clothes, and blankets for others. She will always be remembered for her humor and smile that would light up the room. Gayle gave her best to everyone in her life, she didn’t just spend her free time with them, she made free time for them.
