The death occurred peacefully, at The Mount Continuing Care Community in Charlottetown on Monday, July 8, 2019 of Evelyn Ruth Hughes (Quinn) of Charlottetown at 91 years of age. Evelyn was predeceased by her husband Edwin L Hughes, her son Walter, and so many others she will be reunited with. She leaves behind 5 children, Carol, Gerard, Kevin (Wendy, dec.), Susan (Paul) and Allan (Julie). She also leaves behind 15 grandchildren, Joseph, Katie, Eric, Sara, Logan, Colin, Andrew, Curtis, Patrick, Victoria, Erin, Andrea, Michaela, Ryan and Olivia and 3 great grandchildren, Hadley, Lacey and Emery. Mom was also richly blessed with many siblings, Merlin (dec.), Marie (dec.), Gene, Irene, Ritchie and Bill (dec.) and so had many nieces and nephews. After raising 6 children, Evelyn decided to pursue a career and education and entered the nursing field until retirement. Evelyn was a summer resident of Donaldston and resided in Charlottetown. The Family would like to express their thanks to the Director of Nursing, staff, sisters and all the Mount team for the wonderful care and compassion shown to their mother. Resting at Hillsboro Funeral Home, Stratford. Visiting hours on Friday from 4-7 pm. A funeral mass will be celebrated at St. Michael’s Church, Corran Ban on Saturday at 10 am.
