Card of Thanks
Gerard Currie
01/19/1953 – 07/13/2019

We, the family of the late Gerard Currie of Sydney, Nova Scotia, would like to express our heartfelt thanks to the relatives and friends who supported us during our recent loss. Thank you to Kollin Weatherbee, Kenneth, Liam and Joe of Sydney Memorial Chapel for their kindness, thoughtfulness and professionalism at this difficult time. Thank you to everyone who visited and/or sent food, flowers, Mass cards and Memorial donations in memory of Gerard. Your acts of kindness will forever be appreciated. Your presence and kind words were a great comfort to us. Thank you to all who travelled near and far to be with us. Thank you to the many friends who forwarded messages via the funeral home to express their sympathy. Thank you to those who shared their fond memories of Gerard with us. Thank you to Parish Priest, Father Douglas Murphy who celebrated the Mass. Thank you to pallbearers: Lawrence Williams, James Bornn, Herbert Currie, Lorne Currie, Donald John MacLean and John MacMullin. Thank you also to readers Jo-Anne Currie and Roseanne Currie; and gift bearers, Aundrea Currie and Marlyce MacMullin. The hymns selected by the family were sung beautifully by Holy Rosary Parish Choir, directed by Gordie Leon and accompanied by Vernon MacIssac. Accompanied by Tracy Kavanaugh, Connie MacAskill’s angelic voice will always be remembered through her singing of ‘Rising High’ as a tribute to Gerard. It touched the hearts of all those present at both the funeral home and church service at Holy Rosary. Thank you to Gerard and Kaye’s friends at #30 Maple Ridge Manor for the delicious after service luncheon they prepared and hosted. We are truly appreciative. We will always remember in our hearts the compassionate care given to Gerard by the doctors and nursing staff of the Intensive Care Unit of Cape Breton Regional Hospital. To each and every person who helped us in your way, your thoughtfulness and caring has been deeply appreciated and will always be remembered.

“Though the ones we love may leave life as we know it,
in our memory the love we knew will always carry on.”

Sincerely, Kaye Currie and Family
