We, the family of the late Lance Oakley, wish to express our sincere gratitude and appreciation for all the love and support we received during the loss of our much-loved husband and father. We would like to extend special thanks to the Cape Breton Regional Police Service and the Cape Breton Regional Fire Department for all you did. To Chief Brent Boyle and the members of the Mira Road Volunteer Fire Department, thank you all for the honour guard and taking Lance for his last ride, you all gave him a sendoff like no other, he would be so proud. To the ladies Auxiliary, thank you so much for all you did after the service. Special thanks to Jody Oakley, Lillian and Todd Marsman, Tony Langlois and their staff. To my co-workers thank you all so much. Thank you all, for the phone calls, texts, visits and food brought to our homes. Special thanks to the Palliative Care Team, the V.O.N. and the County Homemakers for taking excellent care of Lance and to Curry’s Funeral Home for your professionalism and care. To Father Bill Burke, thank you for your beautiful service, Pat Moore for singing Lance home. Finally, to Lances brother Carl, thank you for driving Lance home.
