Theresa Stockley

Theresa Stockley (née Tompkins) passed away on August 14, 2019, her 60th birthday, at the Dr. Charles L. LeGrow Medical Centre in Port aux Basques, NL.

Theresa had a gift for turning strangers into friends. She loved her job greeting tourists at the Visitor Information Centre and went out of her way to make every person’s trip to Newfoundland one to remember. Her involvement in community events and activities touched countless people.
She was well known for her random acts of kindness and opening up her home to anyone she met. She had a “more the merrier” attitude and knew how to find the fun in everyday situations.

Theresa was predeceased by her parents, Frank and Bride Tompkins. She is lovingly remembered by her husband David, children Sandra (Jeremy), Joanna (Jonathan) and Mathew (Danielle), as well as her grandchildren Clayton, Bridget, Julie and Jocelyn.

Also left to cherish her memory are her siblings, David (Lana), Paula (Andy), Kelly (Vicki) and Joe (Tracey), as well as her in laws, Linda (Tom), Sandra (Jim) and Paula (Gary).

At Theresa’s request, there will be no formal service. A come-and-go gathering was held at St. Anne’s Centre on Saturday, August 17. Flowers and donations are respectfully declined. Instead, we ask that you follow Theresa’s example and pay it forward with a random act of kindness.
