Later in life, they were longtime residents of Big Bras d’Or, Cape Breton. Mom loved welcoming visitors and guests to Mountain View by the Sea, which she managed for many years. She also enjoyed the special friendship of Cora & Case Schellan of Vernon River, P.E.I.
Mom was predeceased by her parents; by her sister, Annette Abrams; by her daughter, Anna Marie and by her son, Casey.
Condolences can be sent to Steckley Gooderham Funeral Homes, 30 Worseley St., Barrie, Ont., L4M 1L4, www.stackleygooderham.com.
A local service will be held in Cape Breton on Aug. 27 at 2:30 p.m. St. John's United Church, Big Bras d’Or.
Mom's love of children led her to be a social worker and a foster Mom to seven children as well as welcoming many neighbourhood kids into her kitchen.
In lieu of flowers, a donation to a local charity that benefits children would be appreciated.

Because we have something of Mom in all of us.
