Mrs. Ann (Doucette) Sweeney, wife of Paul Sweeney for 49 years, died at her home on Monday, Sept. 7, 2009, surrounded by her family. She was born and raised in Tignish, P.E.I., the daughter of the late Howard and Catherine (Peters) Doucette. She moved to the United States in 1959 and was married in 1960. She was the cherished mother of Francis Sweeney of Lynn, Debra Ladderbush and her husband Bill of Lynn, and Stephen Sweeney and his wife Tricia of Medford. She was the grandmother of Jessica and Emily Ladderbush of Lynn, and Christina and Eric Sweeney of Medford. She also leaves behind her twin brother Claude of Prince Edward Island, her brother Patrick Leslie and his wife Dorothy of Ontario, her brother James and his wife Ann of Prince Edward Island, her sisters Leona Harris and her husband Don, Noreen Gaudet, Hazel Richard and her husband John, Diane McCue and her husband Joe, all of Prince Edward Island, her sister Doris Thompson and her husband Joey of Ottawa, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins from Canada as well as the United States. She was predeceased by two sisters Eleanor Giguere and Melissa McPhee of Prince Edward Island. Ann will be remembered as an extremely hard worker. She held several different jobs during her 50 years in the United States. She waitressed, worked at the Smithcraft in Chelsea, did housecleaning, worked for Torch Products (a non-profit organization) and worked very hard at being a wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She was an avid Bingo player and she loved to sew, quilt and cook. Her homemade bread, cookies, jams, mustard pickles, boiled dinners and so much more will be greatly missed. Her funeral will be held on Friday at 8 a.m. from the Solimine Landergan and Richardson Funeral Home, 67 Ocean St., Lynn, Mass., followed by a funeral mass at 9 a.m. in Holy Family Church. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited. Visiting hours Thursday 4-8 p.m.
