MULLINS, LLOYD E. "MOON" - 1923-2011 - Lloyd "Moon" Mullins, 87, of Bloomfield, passed away peacefully on July 3rd, 2011 at the Saint John Regional Hospital with his family by his side after a lengthy illness. Lloyd was born in Parkside, NB, on July 20th, 1923, the son of the late Hartford and Sarah (Melvin) Mullins. Lloyd worked for NB Tel as a telephone technician for 37 years until his retirement. He attended the Central Norton United Baptist Church. He served WWII Italy, Continental Europe with First Canadian Infantry Division as a gunner with First Anti-tank regiment (Old Red Patch). He was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch #33, in Shediac. Lloyd was a very kind and generous man who will live on in the hearts of his family and friends forever. He will be deeply missed by his wife, Loretta Mullins (Hanlon Mahoney), of Bloomfield; daughters, Donna Tremblay, of Winnipeg, Brenda Harriott, of Vancouver, Wendy Mullins (Edgar), of Moncton, Valerie Floyd (Gary), of Titusville, Wanda Leaman, of Saint John; sons, Wayne (Margaret), of Moncton, Jeffrey (Laurie), of Cole Harbour, NS, and Stephen (Karen), of Pennsylvania; his treasured grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sisters, Mayme Hannington, of Moncton, Kathleen LeBlanc (Henri), of Moncton, and Eileen Furlong, of Sackville. He will also be missed by several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Margaret "Maggie" Keirstead (2003); son, Mitchell (2006); four brothers and four sisters.
Honouring Lloyd's own wishes there will be no visitation. A Memorial Service and Celebration of his life will be held at the Central Norton United Baptist Church, 435 Route 121, on Thursday, July 7th, 2011, at 11 am with Pastor John Tremblett officiating. Interment will be in the Big Rock Cemetery, Bloomfield, NB.
