Eunice and her older brother Eldger were born in Waldeck, Saskatchewan. Her parents, Elsie and Emil Olson along with grandparents Maria and John Bodin lived in Waldeck and they also had a farm outside of Waldeck. Eunice began her teaching career at age eighteen, in rural towns such as Antelope and McLaren in Northern Saskatchewan. In 1960, the family moved to Grande Prairie, Alberta where Kelly was born. Eunice taught for many years in Grande Prairie as a full-time and substitute teacher. She and Rodney divorced in the late 1970’s. Eunice studied to become a life skills coach and was able to help many people. After Eunice retired, she became a marriage commissioner. She remarried in 1994 to Lewis Johnston, who passed away August 5, 2010. Eunice enjoyed life and was not a complainer although the last two years of life her health had declined and she was in and out of hospital.
