Willis McConnell Bonnyman

95, Tatamagouche, Nova Scotia.
It is with great sadness that the family of Willis McConnell Bonnyman, announce his passing on July 12, 2011, in Willow Lodge, Tatamagouche, N.S. He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Isabel (Creaser) Bonnyman; sons, Bill (Linda), Charlottetown, P.E.I.; John (Peggy), Tatamagouche; grandchildren, James, Denise, Sherry and Stephanie; great-grandchildren, Connor, Phoebe and Jillian; several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, George and Elizabeth (McConnell) Bonnyman, he was predeceased by two brothers, Keith and Stewart. Willis worked at the Tatamagouche Creamery for most of his working life as a pasteurizer and butter maker. During the Second World War, he joined the Royal Canadian Air Force as a wireless operator working in Nova Scotia, New Brunswick and Newfoundland. He was a faithful member of Sharon United Church serving on several boards. A Charter Member of Keystone Lodge, A.F. & A.M. and served as Secretary for 22 years. He was a Scout leader of the First Tatamagouche Scout Troop. He enjoyed woodworking, gardening, and vacation trips with Isabel. No visitation by request. A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, July 16, 2011, in Sharon United Church, Tatamagouche, Chuck Paterson DLM officiating, organist, Morley Bentley. Immediately following the service there will be a reception downstairs. Burial to follow in Tatamagouche Cemetery. A special thank you to all the staff at Willow Lodge and to Dr. Moss. At the family’s request, in lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Willow Lodge or Sharon United Church. Arrangements have been entrusted to Coulter’s Funeral Home, Tatamagouche.
