LARGE, Violet Lillian – 79, Lower Truro, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family, on Saturday morning, July 16, 2011, at Colchester Regional Hospital, Truro. Born April 27, 1932, in Economy, she was a daughter of the late Laverne and Marjorie (Elliott) Perry. She was an adherent of Old Barns United Church. Violet is survived by her loving husband of 37 years, William Allen Large; step-daughters, Louise Gill, Betty Russell, Ontario; sister, Barbara Gorman, Truro; brothers, Elson (Mary) Perry, Bible Hill; Wilfred (Isabel) Perry, Truro; sister-in-law, Leota Perry, Bible Hill; three step grandchildren; five step great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Along with her parents, she was predeceased by her sisters, Annie Ida and Linda Joyce, in infancy; Marie Yorke; brother, Malcolm Perry. Special thanks are extended to Dr. Smith, nurses and staff on Floor 4E, Colchester Regional Hospital, Colchester Regional Hospital Foundation girls and Colchester East Hants Community Hospice Society for your care, concern and support. Arrangements have been entrusted to Mattatall ~ Varner Funeral Home, 55 Young Street, Truro, where Violet’s family will receive friends from 1-1:45 p.m., Tuesday, July 19, 2011, followed by the funeral service at 2 p.m., Reverend Ian Harrison officiating.
