Marion Joyce Mills (NEE Cooper) passed away peacefully July 10, 2011 at her home in Seal Cove, W.B., NL, and three weeks before her 86th birthday. She leaves behind her devoted and grieving children, sons - Lloyd Cooper (Daphne), Twillingate, NL, John (Tracey Comeau), Seal Cove, NL and daughter Betty (Danny Redway), Barrie, Ontario. She also leaves behind six loving grandchildren - Bill, Suzanne (Jeff Baggs) and Phillip, all of Twillingate, NL, Jenny (Tim Lang), Antigonish, NS, Jodi, Jillian (Troy Gibeau), Ontario and four great-grandchildren, Jessica and Jewel Baggs, Twillingate, NL and Matthew and Jacqueline Lang, Antigonish, NS, dearest sister to George Cooper (and the late Beatrice), Margaret (George Pride) and Roland Cooper (Dorothy), sisters-in-law and cherished friends, Myrtle Bath (Roland), Baie Verte, and Edna Dove (Roy), Twillingate; loving companions and caregivers, Elizabeth Osborne (Clem), Evelyn Rice (Wayne) and their families. Predeceased by husband of 53 years, James (Jim) Mills; beloved parents William and Elizabeth Cooper (Jenkins); infant brothers Clarence and Lloyd; in-laws John and Elsie Mills, Minnie and Joe Strong and William and Lydia Mills and a host of cherished and loved nieces, nephews, and friends. Marion was born in Twillingate on July 31, 1925 and was raised surrounded by love and Christian faith. Always a modest woman, she unknowingly influenced and mentored all those around her. She dedicated her life to God, family and friends and never waivered in her faith. Marion believed the Lord would provide and never questioned her path in life. She was forever thankful for what she had and never asked for more. Her greatest joy was having a house full of family; friends or strangers gathered around her table and always believed life is what we make it. She had fond memories of her years lived in Twillingate, Gander, Toronto, Pacquet and most recently Seal Cove. Marion’s wish was for us to rejoice in her death and celebrate as she unites with the Lord. Pastor Jeff Elliott conducted the funeral service at Trinity Pentecostal Church, Baie Verte, on Wednesday, July 13, 2011. Interment followed at the Seal Cove Community Cemetery. Pallbearers were John Mills, Danny Redway, Clem Osborne, Steve Burton, Derrick Hicks and Kyle Rice.
