KELLAND, Barbara Claire (nee Bartlett). September 24, 1926 — July 21, 2011. Predeceased by her beloved husband, Donald E. J. (2004). Leaving with loving memories: son, David (Gary Tucker); daughters, Donna (Ed Kirby) and Andrea (Tony Dawe); treasured grandchildren Jonathan and Sarah Kirby, and Jennifer and Erica Dawe; brother David and sister Connie, as well as a large circle of family and friends. Barbara was well known through her work at the MUN Education Library and the Centre for Newfoundland Studies, as well as for a wide variety of volunteer work with the Janeway (Auxiliary and Foundation), St. Mary’s Church (Choir and Auxiliary), St. Luke’s Homes, and the St. John’s Library Board, among others. Barbara loved people – especially her cherished grandchildren - and enjoyed her time with friends, including her frequent visits to Tim Hortons to chat. Special thanks to the staff of the Health Sciences Centre, the staff and residents of Kenny’s Pond Retirement Residence, and her lifelong friends. Cremation has taken place. Visitation at Barrett’s Funeral Home, 328 Hamilton Ave. on Saturday, July 23rd (2 – 9 pm), Sunday, July 24th (2 – 9 pm), and Monday, July 25th (10 am – 12 pm). Funeral services will take place at 2:00 pm on Monday July 25, 2011 from the Church of St. Mary the Virgin on Craigmiller Avenue. Interment to be held at a later date.
