Copeland, Florence age 89 of Cambey Ave., Stellarton passed away July 22, 2011 in the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow.
Born in Trenton on August 19, 1921 she was a daughter of the late Jack and Mina (Fitt) Carrigan. Florence was a member of First Presbyterian Church, Stellarton. She had been employed at the Lab of the Aberdeen Hospital from where she retired.
Florence is survived by sons Brady (Kathy Lumsden), Thorburn; Ian, Stellarton; daughter Laurel Copeland (Brian Krell), Edmonton, Alberta; daughter-in-law Anne Copeland, Halifax; grandchildren Leah Copeland (Rory Thompson), Celebration, Florida; Kelly Copeland (Ian Gibson), Timberlea; Christena Copeland, Halifax; Ceilidh McKenzie, Saskatoon; John McKenzie, Fort McMurray; great-grandchildren Brady and Connor Gibson, Timberlea and Storm McKenzie, Alberta; sisters Frances Dooley Germany, Westville; Virginia Cunningham, Stellarton.
She was predeceased by her husband John Copeland, son Billy, brother George Carrigan, sisters Beatrice Doucette, Johanna Heighton, Willa Leigh Chadwick, and Marguerite Barton.
There will be no visitation at Florence’s request. A private family service will be held in Brookside cemetery with Rev. Charles McPherson officiating. Donations in memory of Florence may be made to the Aberdeen Palliative Care Society.
