The death of James Michael Morrison, 69, Amherst, N.S., formerly of Etobicoke, Ont., occurred peacefully on Thursday, July, 28, 2011 following a courageous battle with COPD at the Cumberland Regional Health Care Centre in Upper Nappan, N.S.
Born on April 26, 1942 in Sydney, NS, he was a son of the late John Morrison and Elizabeth (Leblanc) Tobin. Jim was an avid Montreal Canadiens fan, loved his Toronto Blue Jays and enjoyed spending time at the horse races. He was a long standing member of the Loyal Order of Moose.
Jim is survived by his two daughters, Michelle (Glenn) Corbett, Kitchener, Ont. and Paula Morrison, Mississauga, Ont.; wife, Barbara Morrison; brother, Harry Tobin, Sydney, N.S. and two grandchildren, Taylor and Colin Corbett, Kitchener, Ont.; as well as many nieces, nephews and extended family.
Besides his parents, Jim was predeceased by his sister, Eileen (Tobin) Donavon.
Cremation has taken place. Funeral service will be celebrated in Etobicoke, Ont. at a later date.
