NICKERSON, Jessie - Digby. It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother Jessie Ann Nickerson. Mother passed away peacefully at the Annapolis Royal Nursing Home, Annapolis Royal on Sunday, August 7, 2011 in her 92nd year. Mother was born in Comeau’s Hill, Yarmouth County. She was a daughter to the late Leo and Jane (Campbell) Clements. Mother was a member of St. Patrick’s Roman Catholic Church where she was a proud member of the Catholic Women’s League. She was an active member of the Digby Hospital Ladies Auxiliary, member and past president of the Digby New Horizon’s Club (senior’s club), member of the Digby Pines Golf Club, employee of The Digby Pines Resort Gift Shop, member of the bowling and curling clubs, Digby. Mother loved to knit, sew and quilt. Mother was the beloved wife of the late Charles “Nick” Nickerson and the dear mother of the late Clarence Nickerson; Mother is survived by daughters, Karen Nickerson Gesner (Gary), Charlene Skelton (Dick), Marie Gidney; daughter in law, Judy Nickerson; son Bill Nickerson (Johanna).Mother’s 14 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews will fondly remember her. Mother is also survived by her sisters Vivian, Rose, Anne. She was predeceased by sisters Olive, Lillian, Mae, Christine, Madeline; brothers Abel and Edward and son-in-law Loran Gidney. We wish to thank the staff members at the Annapolis Royal Nursing Home for the devoted care given to mother. In accordance with Mother’s wishes, a service was held at St. Patrick’s Roman Catholic Church, Digby 11am Thursday, August 11 with interment in St. Patrick’s Roman Catholic Cemetery, Digby.
