SCOTT, BURRIS - The death of Burris Scott, age 89, of Sackville and formerly of Baie Verte, NB, occurred at the Drew Nursing Home, Sackville on Friday, August 12, 2011. Born in Baie Verte,
he was a son of the late James and Gertrude (Belden) Scott. Burris was a former elder in St. James United Church, Baie Verte for many years, and was an honorary member of Baie Verte Seniors Club.Through the years Burris served citizens of the area on the Esso Oil Truck and as a clerk at Home Hardware, Sackville. Burris will be sadly missed by his wife of 62 years, Edith; two daughters, Betty (Robert) Hunsley of LIttle River, Cumberland County, NS, Eleanor Scott of New Maryland, NB; sisters, Carrie Scott and Eileen Johnstone; two brothers, Vaughn and James; four grandchildren, Brianne, Blake, Christopher, and Mitchell; many nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by one infant daughter, Esther Ellen; sisters Evelyn, Dora and Emma;
two brothers, Joseph and Ralph.
Visitation will be held from the Jones Funeral Home, Sackville, (506-364-1300) 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm on Sunday. A funeral service will be held from the funeral home, Sackville on Monday, August 15, 2011 at 2 pm. Burial at Fernwood Cemetery Port Elgin. Donations may be made to the Drew Nursing Home, or a charity of the donor's choice.
