Muriel Fanny Rudderham, of Point Edward, passed away Wednesday, Aug. 10, 2011, at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney.
Born in New Waterford, she was the daughter of the late David and Jane (Price) MacKay.
Muriel was a nurse at the New Waterford General Hospital, before staying home to take care of her family. She was a member of St. John’s Anglican Church, Pt. Edward, Girl Guides of Canada and the Seaview County Club.
Surviving are her daughters, Donna Rudderham (James Purcell), Pt. Edward and Gail (Andrew) Parker, Grafton, N.S.; sister, Pauline Cowley; brother, Richard MacKay; grandchildren, Ian (Autumn) Parker, Janet (Eric) Chappel, Michael Purcell and Chantel Purcell; great-grandchildren, Victoria, Amelia, Levi, Sage, and Corey Purcell, Cole Balcom, Jax and Harris Chappel and Mason Parker.
Muriel was predeceased by her husband, Albert; sisters, Maggie, Lilly and Janet; brothers, George, David and Edward ‘Ted’.
There will be no visitation. A memorial service will be held at Church of Christ the King (Christ Church) on Monday 11 a.m., with Rev. Laura McCue officiating. Interment in St. John’s Cemetery, Pt. Edward.
