D. Jerome Sullivan

SULLIVAN, D. JEROME - At the Veterans Memorial Hospital, Halifax, Nova Scotia on Thursday, August 11th, 2011, D. Jerome Sullivan of Fredericton, New Brunswick husband of the late Helen (Theriault) Sullivan passed away. Born in St. Stephen the son of the late Ambrose and Martha (Hebert) Sullivan and was predeceased by one sister, Monica and one son, Mark. He is survived by one son, John and his wife, Ann in Truro, Nova Scotia; five grandchildren, Christopher, Calgary, Alberta; Shane, Siera and Jessica, Truro, Nova Scotia; Samantha, Oklahoma and two great-grandchildren, Aiden and Daelyn. He had a 42 year career with the NB Power Corporation at which time he served as a notary public and served in the Merchant Navy, overseas in World War II. He was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #4, Fredericton and a member of the Canadian Merchant Navy Association and also a member of the Royal Naval Association. He was also the past President of Dr. Collins Branch #1, T.V.S. in Saint John, New Brunswick. He was active in both winter and summer sports and one of the early founders of Crabbe Mountain Winter Park. He was a member of St. Dunstan's Parish and served on it's Property Committee. He was also a Knight's of Columbus Member of Council #1942, Fredericton, New Brunswick.
The family will receive visitors at McAdam's Funeral Home on Wednesday, August 17th, 2011 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. The Royal Canadian Legion, Branch # 4 will hold a tribute service at 7 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Holy Family Catholic Church on Thursday, August 18th, 2011 at 12 pm with Rev. J. J. Dolan officiating. Interment will take place in the Hermitage Cemetery at a later date. Memorial tributes made to the Canadian Cancer Society, the New Brunswick Lung Association or to the charity of one's choice, would be appreciated by the family.
