JORDAN, Mildred Clara - 89, Waterville, Kings Co., passed away on Saturday, August 6, 2011, in Soldier's Memorial Hospital, Middleton. Born in Victoria Harbour, Kings Co., she was a daughter of the late Henry and Bida (Spicer) DeEll. Mildred was a member of the Morristown Baptist Church, where she had been involved with the church auxiliary. She was a life member of the Ladies Auxiliary and an associate member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Ortona Branch # 69, Berwick. She had been a resident in her last years at Northhills Nursing Home, Granville Ferry and the Heart of the Valley Long Term Care Facility, Middleton. Mildred was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Surviving are sons, Lindsay (Lori), Timmins, Ont.; Gilbert (Charlotte), Oshawa, Ont.; Myles (Judy), Sussex, N.B.; daughters, Mary Fitzgerald (Larry Dennis), Waterloo, Ont.; Margaret (Eric) Best, Morristown; Lillian (Skip) Huntley, Kentville; daughter-in-law, Tiny Jordan, Waterville; 20 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Archibald H. Jordan; son, Henry; daughter, Rochelle Gray; brothers, Carl, Leander, Lawrence and Percy DeEll; sister, Edna Blair. Visitation was held from 7-9 p.m., Monday, August 8, in the Serenity Lindsay Funeral Home, 192 Commercial St., Berwick, N.S., B0P 1E0, (902-538-9900), from where the Royal Canadian Legion and funeral service were held at 2 p.m., Tuesday, August 9. Rev. Donald Hirtle officiated, with burial in the Morristown Cemetery. Family flowers only, donations in her memory may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia or to the Waterville and District Volunteer Fire Department.
