Daisy Lorraine Shields passed away peacefully on Oct. 1st, 2009 at the Moose Jaw Union Hospital. Daisy, at the age of 74, is predeceased by her husband Ted (1999). Loving mother of Karen McDonald (Tom) and Ken (Jackie) Collier, cherished grandmother of Brett Heltman, Ryan Heltman, Krista McDonald, great-grandmother of Riley and Ericka Heltman and Cohen McDonald. She will be lovingly remembered by her sisters Verna Wiley, Cecil Cooper and Edna Lambert (Ted). Predeceased by her brothers Willie Nichols and Joe Nichols. Daisy was born in Montana, USA, to Mabel and Edmund Nichols in 1934. She moved to Decker Lake, BC at the age of one. Raised in northern BC, she was married to Bev Collier in 1959 and the couple raised their family in Salmon Arm, BC. She moved to Moose Jaw in 1999 following the passing of her husband Ted. Daisy loved the outdoors and traveling. She loved animals, especially her Jack Russell Terrier Buddy. She was a committed mother, grandmother, and loved preparing her fried chicken dinners for family gatherings. A Memorial Tea will be held in The Redpath Lounge at Parkview Funeral Chapel on Wednesday, Oct. 7th, 2009 at 1:00 pm. Memorial donations to the Moose Jaw Humane Society would be appreciated.
