The death of Helen Marina Goodine (Nee Dunphy) of Island View, NB, occurred at Pine Grove Nursing Home on Monday, August 22, 2011. Born in Fredericton on April 21, 1936, she was the daughter of the late Leigh and Marie (Carlisle) Dunphy.

A devoted wife and beloved aunt, Marina is survived by her brother, Jack Dunphy (Mildred) of Jewetts Mills; sister, Dawn Dunphy of Naniamo, BC; three nieces, Anne Dunphy, Jane Rioux (David) and Nancy Esau (Darryl); great niece, Elizabeth Rioux, great nephews, Peter Rioux, Matthew Rioux and Lincoln Esau and cousins. Besides her parents, Marina was predeceased by her husband Vernon H. Goodine in 2000.

Marina worked for the Provincial Government for 35 years with the Department of Finance. She was a faithful member of the Island View Baptist Church. She enjoyed sewing, camping in the RV with her husband and spending time with family. Marina devoted much time caring for “special niece” Anne.

A memorial service will be held at Island View Baptist Church on Thursday August 25, 2011 at 2:30 PM with Rev. Paul Thompson officiating. Interment will take place at the Dunphy Cemetery, Island View.
