Patrick Joseph Martin of Logan Lake B.C. passed away peacefully on August 27, 2011 at 68 years of age.
Pat is survived by his loving wife of 32 years Kelly (Cathy) of Logan Lake, sons Justin of Vancouver, BC, Bruce of Kamloops, BC, daughters Sherri Lynn Geddes (Neil) of Newmarket, Ontario, Cindy Martin (Tom) of Lower Sackville, Nova Scotia, grandchildren Alex, Renee and Lily.
He is survived by 13 brothers and sisters and numerous nieces and nephews.
Pat was predeceased by his parents Mary and Patrick Martin of Brent's Cove, Newfoundland.
Pat was born on December 14, 1942 in Brent's Cove, Newfoundland. He was the first son of 14 children and had many great childhood memories to share of growing up in a large family in rural Newfoundland. Pat worked as a boiler maker for 45 years in various places across the country and made lasting friendships where ever he went. Pat enjoyed camping and fishing and his family was very important to him. He also had a story or a joke to share with his buddies over a coffee or a brew. Pat moved his family to Logan Lake in 1985 and has enjoyed retirement there for the past six years.
Those wishing to pay there respects by viewing, may do so at the Kamloops Funeral Home in the Rosewood Room on Wednesday, August 31, 2011 at 1:00 to 3:00 p.m.
Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 1, 2011 in Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, 635 Tranquille Road, Kamloops, BC with Reverend Father Peter Nguyen, Celebrant.
A special thank you to the staff at Royal Inland Hospital for the wonderful care of Pat and his family over the past five weeks.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the BC Children's Hospital Foundation, 938 West 28th Avenue, Vancouver, BC V5Z 4H4 or a charity of your choice.
