It is with great sorrow that we announce the sudden passing of our beloved brother and friend, Michael Andre Thoma on Sunday, Aug. 28, 2011.
Michael was predeceased by his mother Erna Elizabeth Kneisel and his sister Ursula Elfreida Thoma.
Michael is survived by sisters, Barbara (Freddy) Echeverri of Port Moody, B.C., and sister, Monica (Ralph) Forbes of Sydney, N.S.; brothers-in-law Franklin, Diego and Abel Echeverri; sister-in-law, Amparo Echeverri; niece, Danielle Forbes; nephew, Ian Forbes; grand nieces, Brandi and Morgyn Forbes, and grand nephew, Mathieu Forbes. Michael will be missed by all who loved him dearly.
Michael was born Aug. 4, 1952, in Ludwigshafen am Rhein, Germany. He came to Canada when his parents emigrated. He grew up in Montreal and later moved to Sydney, N.S. After graduating from Dalhousie University, he earned his diploma in computer programming from George Brown College in Toronto. His career took him to many cities across Canada.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, Sept. 6, 2011, at 10 a.m. at The Chapel at Royal Oak Burial Park in Victoria. Interment will follow at the Royal Oak Burial Park.
