SLACK, Margaret Alice {nee Buzzell} died at the age of 86 at her daughter’s home in Lockeport, Nova Scotia on Tuesday, September 6, 2011 with all of her children present. Born in Abbotsford, Quebec, Margaret married Charles Irving Slack in 1951 and spent most of her life as a loving wife and mother raising her family in Waterloo, Quebec. In 1995 Irving and Margaret moved to Tillsonburg, Ontario. After Irving’s death in 2006, Margaret moved to Lockeport, Nova Scotia to live with her daughter Katherine Slack. Margaret was predeceased by her sister Helen and brothers Clarence and John. She is survived by her children David, Barbara, Katherine, Krista and Lisa. The family wishes to extend sincere gratitude and thanks to the compassionate and caring Queens General Hospital nurses, doctors and staff as well as the VON and Homecare Services of Shelburne County, Nova Scotia. Without their collective efforts we would not have been able to fulfill Mom’s wish to spend her final days at home by the sea under the loving care of all of her children. A private memorial service was held in Lockeport on Thursday, September 8th. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Queen’s General Hospital, Liverpool and the Victorian Order of Nurses- Shelburne Branch.
