BLAIR, Linda Bertha – 63, of Middleton, NS passed away on Thursday, September 8, 2011 in Soldiers’ Memorial Hospital, Middleton surrounded by loved ones. Born in Windsor, she was raised by maternal grandparents the late Carmen and Bertha (MacKenzie) Penny. Daughter of Edith Penny, Kingston. She is survived by companion Minnie Blair for 24 years, Middleton; brothers, Terry (Mary) Penney, Windsor; Douglas (Diane) Penney, Middleton; Roger Penney; Keith Penney, both of Kingston; Garnet Penney, Wilmot; sisters, Sylvia (Alfred) Sproule, Wilmot; Violet (Doug) Milbury, Nictaux Falls; Sandra Penney, Middleton; Rosie (Doug) Sproule, Berwick; Sharron (Lewis) Armstrong, Wilmot; several nieces and nephews; adopted great grandchildren, Mandy Leeann and Danté Alex and many more who called her “Papa Linda”. She was predeceased by her husband Hugh and stepfather William Penney. Linda was involved with TOPS # 0859 Bridgetown and then later joined TOPS # 3933 New Minas. She was involved with the Emmanuel Congregational Christian Church, Middleton and her church family. Linda loved Christmas and especially enjoyed decorating for Christmas. Linda wishes to thank everyone especially her church family and special thanks to Charlene & Dave Comeau, Gayle Ann & Lee Armstrong, Soldiers’ Memorial Hospital, Palliative Care and Dr. Yafai for all their care and compassion. Visitation was held Saturday, September 10, 2011 in the Middleton Funeral Home, 398 Main St., (902) 825-3448 and funeral service was held Sunday, September 11, 2011 in Emmanuel Congregational Christian Church, Pastor Sweis Ubels and Rev. Dr. Bill MacDougall officiated. Interment in Pine Grove Cemetery, Middleton. Donations in Linda’s memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or Emmanuel Congregational Christian Church.
