NOWLAN, Patricia Kathleen - 89, of Grand View Manor, Berwick, passed away with her family by her side. During her passing, the family sang her favorite Irish medleys, hymns and prayers when she was reunited with her husband Lloyd, on Friday, September 2, 2011. Pat was the character of her family and loved a good party and especially a saucy joke. She was a wonderful Mom. Pat enjoyed her retirement years travelling abroad and especially her years in Florida. Born in Halifax, she was a daughter of the late Joseph and Alice (Phelan) McGrath. She is survived by three daughters, Gail (Wayne) Murray, Berwick; Jane (Gary) Whittier, Berwick; Colleen (Rand) Kellock, Lake George; three sons, David (Tish), Chance Harbour, Pictou County; Paul, Mont Tremblant; Michael (Anne Rénee), Black Point, Pictou County; a brother, Fred, Halifax; nine grandchildren, Jeff, Colleen, Erica, Marc, D’Arcy, Laura, Mitchell, Sarah-Emily and Danielle-Marie; eight great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Lloyd; a brother, Frank. The body has been donated to Dalhousie Medical Science. There will be no visitation, by request. A private family graveside service will be held at a later date in the Berwick Cemetery. Donations in memory may be made to the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation.
