ELLIOTT, Gerald Matthew – Middleton, born May 1, 1945 died suddenly on October 3, 2011. Born in Middleton, he was a son of the late Matthew Elliott and Mona (Craig) Saunders. Gerald enjoyed working in his woodpile, going to auctions and always had time to stop and talk to friends. He was employed with Dexter Valley Division, formerly RB Paving and previously owned and operated Elliott’s Irving Service Station for over 20 years. Gerald is survived by his wife Noreen, whom he loved and adored with all his heart; son Rick (Heather) Greene and daughter Shelley MacGregor, both of Middleton; his grandchildren Richard Greene, Middleton; Gillian Greene, Cold Lake, AB and Alexandra MacGregor, Halifax. Gerald’s whole life centered around his children and grandchildren and loved each of them dearly. As well, he is survived by sisters, Marion (Tom) Arthurs, Greenwood; Betty (Ross) King, Meadowvale; brothers, Murray (Carole), Cole Harbour; Vaughan (Rosemary), Nictaux; Dale “Jim” (Patricia), Spa Springs; sisters-in-law, Phyllis Elliott, Middleton and Jocelyn Holden, Swift Current, SK; aunt Mildred MacPherson and aunt and uncle Thelma and Llewellyn Robicheau, all of Middleton; step-grandchildren, Shannon Burns (Aaron); Miranda Burns (Colin); Craig (Loretta) Burns; Tyler Burns (Nichole) and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his brother Ron Elliott. Visitation was held Thursday, October 6, 2011 in the Middleton Funeral Home, 398 Main Street, (902) 825-3448 where the funeral service was held Friday, October 7, 2011 with Rev. Robin McCoombs officiating. A reception for family and friends followed the service. Interment in Pine Grove Cemetery, Middleton.
