KEDDY (Welton), Hilda Faye - 88, Auburn, Kings Co., passed away quietly surrounded by family on Thursday, October 6, 2011, in the Grand View Manor, Berwick. Born in Tremont, she was a daughter of the late Frank and Viola (Prime) Welton. Surviving are her children, David (Brenda), Aylesford; Dale, Ladysmith, B.C.; Linda Keddy, Port Salerno, Fla.; Sharon (Robert) Buchanan, Auburn; John (Sherri), Aylesford; Gary (Trudie), Morden; Larry (Dawn), Estevan, Sask.; Terry (Fran), Stuart, Fla.; 13 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; foster brother, Wayne Ward, Kentville. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Lorimer Keddy; grandson, Jason Pierce; brother, John; sister, Helen Sherriff; foster sister, Kaye Kretzul. After working 20 years at various nursing homes in the area, Hilda enjoyed retirement. She spent 22 winters with her daughter in Florida and went on a number of Caribbean Cruises. Hilda also travelled coast to coast in Canada and the U.S. on various bus tours and visited her children and grandchildren. Her later years were spent closer to home in Auburn and more recently at Grand View Manor. Hilda wanted the staff at Grand View Manor, V.O.N. home support staff and Dr. Peter Goddard thanked for their years of care. Visitation was held from 7-9 p.m., Friday, October 7, in the Serenity Lindsay Funeral Home, 192 Commercial St., Berwick, N.S., B0P 1E0, (902-538-9900), from where her funeral service took place 2 p.m., Saturday, October 8. Rev. Brenda Nesbitt officiated with burial in the Aylesford Union Cemetery. Family flowers only, donations in her memory may be made to the Aylesford United Church or to the Canadian Cancer Society.
