BUTLER, Sidney Ferguson – 90, of The Meadows in Yarmouth, passed away October 9, 2011 in Yarmouth Regional Hospital. Born February 21, 1921 in Brandon, Man., he was a son of the late Sidney Horace and Lydia Eliza (Ferguson) Butler. Sidney was a member of Holy Trinity Anglican Church in Yarmouth. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge, achieving the title of Master Mason. He also served in the RCAF from 1940-1945. He also enjoyed golfing. He will be remembered as a loving father and husband, and is survived by wife, Laura (Blauvelt); daughter, Susan Sweeney, Sointula, BC; Russell, Central Argyle, Yarmouth Co.; six grandchildren, one step-grandchild and eight great-grandchildren. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by sister, Lydia Cooke, Florence Cousins and Jean Lissiman. Cremation has taken place under the direction of Sweeny’s Funeral Home & Crematorium. A memorial service was held Wednesday, October 12 at 2 p.m. from Holy Trinity Anglican Church, Father Doug Chard officiated. Interment will take place at a later date. Family flowers only, please.
