Fred passed away peacefully on October 14, 2011 at 78 years, after many struggles with cancer and other health problems.

Fred is survived by Mary, whose loved and loving husband he was for over 53 years; son Randy (Billie Lynne) and granddaughter Maxine Nicole Voykin of Kamloops. Maxine had been such a joy in his last years. Brother Stan (Joy) and nephew Spencer, Kamloops and nephew Dean of Calgary. Aunts Mary Negraiff, Nell (Walter) Rezansoff and Ann Poznikoff, Kamsack, Sk. and cousins. Brothers & Sisters-in-law and their families, whom he regarded highly.

Fred was predeceased by daughters Carol Lee (1966) and Sandra (2004), parents Pete and Mary, aunts and uncles.

Fred was born in Kamsack, Sk. on May 11, 1933. He was working as a call-boy for CN when in 1952, he headed west and continued with CN, becoming a conductor until retiring in 1988.

In 1957 he met his future wife Mary Jeck in Prince George, and they were married in 1958. Their children were born in Prince George, Prince Rupert and Kamloops. Fred had many adventures throughout his railroad career and saw many changes. He always made time for family and friends, enjoying camping, fishing, skiing, and especially time spent at the cabin property on the North Shuswap. After retirement he became an ardent golfer, chalking up three holes-in-one, and loved over 20 years of winter RV'ing throughout southern Arizona and California. Special pals were our dogs and he leaves 'Hemmy' wondering where he is.
