Mary Keith
KEITH, MARY - Mary Edith Keith, 98, of Petitcodiac and formerly of Havelock, passed away peacefully Tuesday, November 1, 2011 at the Moncton Hospital. Born in Cornhill, she was a daughter of the late George W. and Elizabeth M. (Branscombe) Keith. Mary was a homemaker and took great pride in her family, especially her cherished grandchildren and their families. She was a member of the Havelock United Baptist Church, the Baptist Auxillary and taught Sunday School and youth group for many years. Mary was a Life member of the Havelock Women's Institute, past matron Goria Chapter, OES and a member of the Butternut Ridge Senior Citizens Club. For numerous years she was the Havelock correspondent for the Kings County Record, Times & Transcript and the Telegraph-Journal. Mary is survived and will be sadly missed by her daughters Norma Montgomery (Alex) of Victoria, BC, Elizabeth (Betty) Cain (Hughie) of Portage Vale and Carolyn Steeves (Ken) of Intervale; sons Gordon (Carol) of Palo Pinto, Texas and Gary (Maureen) of Richmond, ON; 16 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren, five great great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Mary is the last surviving member of her immediate family. Predeceased by her husband Otty (1986); 10 brothers and sisters and a great great grandchild Oliver Tchir.
Resting at Salisbury Funeral Home 3350 Salisbury Road (372-4800) with visiting Thursday from 6 to 9 pm and from where the funeral will be held Friday, November 4 at 4 pm with Rev. Bill Parks officiating. Interment at Green Hill Cemetery, Havelock. If desired, donations to the Havelock Baptist Church Building Fund would be appreciated by the family. www.keirsteads.ca
