BANNISTER, WILDA - Wilda B. Bannister, 85, of the Jordan Lifecare Center and formerly of Hillside, passed away at her residence on November 18, 2011. Born in Prosser Brook, she was a daughter of the late Charlie and Pearl (nee Prosser) Murray. Wilda was a member of the First Elgin Baptist Church, and the Women’s Institute in Elgin. She is survived by her husband, King Bannister; her daughters: Fern Bannister of Rusagonis, and Ellen Bannister of Charlottetown, PE; her son, Robert Bannister of Moncton; her sister: Reta Good of Steeves Mountain; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins. Besides her parents, Wilda was predeceased by her daughter, Lois Shaffer; her son, Earl Bannister, her sisters: Eldora DesRoche, Daisy Trites, Rena Trites, Lillian Munro, Bernice Hopper, and Hilda Bannister; and her brothers: Bill Murray and Lewis Murray.
Visitation will be held on Monday, November 21, 2011 from 6 to 9 pm in Armstrong’s Funeral Home, Petitcodiac; the funeral service will be held on Tuesday November 22, 2011 at 1:00 pm in the First Elgin Baptist Church with Pastor David Hawkesworth and Rev. Donald MacDougall presiding. Interment will be held in the Hillside Cemetery. Donations to Gideon Bibles or the Canadian Bible Society would be appreciated by the family.
