With her family by her side, Jean Dockendorff died peacefully at Cassellholme, North Bay, ON, on Monday, December 12, 2011. She was in her 89th year.
Born and raised in Charlottetown, P.E.I., Jean was the daughter of the late George and Lily Puncher. She was predeceased by her husband George Garfield “Guy” Dockendorff (1999). Jean was the beloved mother of Susan Major (Francis), David Dockendorff (Anne) and Elizabeth Hummel (Tom), all of Powassan and Catherine Webb (Norm) of Sundridge. She was the proud grandmother of Andrea and Tyler (Alison) Boehme, Robert (Melina) and John Dockendorff (Geri), Sarah Cousineau (Jean), Ashley (Joe) and Luke Hummel and Emily Webb and great-grandmother of Kiefer and Tavin Boehme, Miles Dockendorff and Jacob Cousineau. Jean was the dear sister of Elizabeth Nowe of Lake Echo, Nova Scotia and the late Ruth Draper formerly of Mount Denson, Nova Scotia.
The Dockendorff family will receive visitors at the Paul Funeral Home, Powassan on Thursday, December 15, 2011 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. The funeral service will be held in the funeral home chapel on Friday at 11 a.m. Spring interment will take place at Boxwell Cemetery.
At Jean’s request, memorial donations to the CNIB in lieu of flowers would be greatly appreciated.
