SMALL, DOUGLAS EARL - September 16, 1956 - December 20, 2011 - It is with heavy hearts that the family of Douglas Earl Small announce his passing on December 20th, 2011 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Doug spoke often of his work as a laborer at Prestige Homes in Sussex, before enjoying his last few years at the Carleton Kirk Nursing Home in Saint John. He liked to spend time with his grandchildren, watch his favorite movies, and read books on home design. Doug will be sadly missed by his mother Pansy Small of Coles Island, his sister Brenda Grant (Donnie) of Westfield, his two brothers Ronnie of Chipman, and Dean of Coles Island; his two daughters Natasha Clare (Scott) of Quispamsis, and Lynn Flewwelling (Shane) of Rothesay. He will also be sadly missed by his four grandchildren Brandon, Hope, Brooke, and Lia. Doug was predeceased by his father Earold Small of Coles Island.
As per Doug's wishes no service will be held and his remains will be donated to Dalhousie Medical School for research. Donations in Doug's honor can be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association. May he rest in peace.
