The family is saddened to announce the passing of Mabel Elizabeth McNeil on Dec. 20, 2011 at the age of 88. She is gone to be with her adored Lord.
This extraordinarily kind woman touched so many, especially her family. Today we sadly, yet in celebration of her life, announce her very peaceful passing with all her family at her side.
Mabel was predeceased by her loving husband John (1979); granddaughter, Stacey Hagg (1982). She will be sadly missed by her children, Owen (Cecile) McNeil Hythe, Denise (Bob Hagg) Grande Cache, Elva (Steve Roche), Whitecourt, Gerard McNeil, Spruce Grove, Wally (Shirley McNeil), Grande Cache, Machelle (Gervin Antypowich), Grande Prairie; 24 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren on the way.
Mabel was a kind, compassionate, caring human being. Mabel moved to Grande Cache with her husband and family in 1969. She lived, worked and loved Grande Cache and she has been happy to call this beautiful town home.
She is now, as she always was, with us to guide us, remember us and pray for us.
Prayer Vigil was held at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Grande Cache on Dec. 22 at 7 p.m. Funeral service Dec. 23 at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Grande Cache at 1p.m. The service will be celebrated by Fr. Mark McGee.
