Anna Catherine Marie Thomas, 95, of Port Hawkesbury passed away Wednesday, December 28th at the Strait Richmond Hospital, Evanston.
Born in Point Tupper she was the daughter of the late Daniel Joseph and Mary Ann (Gillis) Thomas.
She was a member of St. Joseph Parish, Port Hawkesbury, for many years was the housekeeper for her Uncle Fr. Michael Gillis and later employed by CN Telecommunications until her retirement.
She is survived by her sisters Evelyn and Patricia Thomas, and Helen (the late John B.) Cloake; niece Frances Warner, all of Port Hawkesbury; nephews Gillis (Wanda) Cloake, Newtown, Dan (Judy) Thomas, Fort McMurray AB; grand nieces and nephews, Michael and Katie Thomas. Andrew (Melissa) & Erin Warner and Shannon (Bill) MacNeil; great-grand niece Maggie MacNeil and great-grand nephew Drew Warner.
She was predeceased by brothers William and Michael; sister Sadie and niece Taira Cloake.
Resting in the family residence 8 JD MacLean Cres., Port Hawkesbury Friday beginning with at Prayer Vigil at 2 p.m.
Funeral Mass will be offered Saturday at 10 a.m. from St. Joseph Church, Port Hawkesbury, with Rev Andrew Boyd presiding, burial to follow in the Parish Cemetery, with a reception to follow in the Parish Hall.
In lieu of flowers, memoriams to Pro Life or Strait Richmond Palliative Care appreciated .
