MacLEAN, Gerard – 66, of Windsor Junction. It is with deep regret that we advise of the passing of Gerard MacLean on December 31, 2011 at the Halifax Infirmary. Gerard was a former employee of the Volvo Canada Assembly Plant. He will be remembered for his quick wit and his passion for good food. He was always ready for a good discussion on sports and politics. Gerard was the beloved husband of Janet (Bennett) MacLean. Besides his wife, he also leaves to mourn his sister, Janet (Tim Jennings) of Alice Springs, Australia; brothers and sisters in law; several nieces and nephews and grand nieces and nephews in Australia, Newfoundland and Nova Scotia. Gerard was predeceased by his parents, Andrew and Ann MacLean; and his brother Peter (all of New Glasgow, NS). Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 3, 2012 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. in Atlantic Funeral Home, 125 Sackville Dr, Lower Sackville. Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, January 4 at 10 a.m. in St. Rose of Lima Parish, 9 Jamieson Dr, Fall River, Father Duncan MacMaster officiating. No flowers by request.
