KNOX, GERLADINE MARIE (BELYEA) - Passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, January 01, 2012 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born on November 09, 1930 she was the daughter of the late Ronald A. and Annie G. (Wilcox) Belyea. Loving wife of John Knox. Geraldine previously lived in the North End and was currently residing in Grand Bay-Westfield. She was a graduate of the Saint John Vocational School and went to work after her graduation at Murray & Gregory for 8 years, and then after getting married she stayed home and raised her family for 20 years. She went back to work afterwards for Fairweather's Insurance and later Sun Alliance for 13 years before retiring. Geraldine started singing in the junior choir and taught Sunday School and Brownies at St. Luke's Anglican Church, on Main Street, Saint John and then was a senior choir member at St. James' Anglican Church, in Westfield, as well as teaching Sunday School there. She also enjoyed gardening in her many gardens and knitting for family and for charitable events. She will be sadly missed by her husband, John; two sons, J. Derek E. (Carolyn), of Quispamsis, NB and R. Mark (and friend, Mila), of Toronto, Ontario; three grandchildren, Edward, Andrew and Christopher; two sisters, Lois Cromwell, of Scarbourgh, Ontario and Constance Dunphy, of Fredericton, NB and several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her twin brother, Gerald in infancy and brother, Ronald A. Belyea.
Resting at Castle Funeral Home, "Fallsview Chapel", 309 Lancaster Avenue, Saint John West, (634-1701) visitation will take place on Wednesday, January 04, 2012 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, January 05, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. from the Church of the Resurrection, Grand Bay-Westfield. Interment to follow in St. Peter's Anglican Cemetery, Woodman's Point. A reception will be held at the church, following interment. Donations, in memory of Geraldine, may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or a charity of the donor's choice.
