KIMM, HILDA RACHEL (nee JAMES) - Born on April 16th, 1924 in Gleichen, Alberta. Died on January 1st, 2012 in Fredericton, NB. Rachel passed away peacefully at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital. She was predeceased by her husband John J. Kimm. She is survived by her only son Randall James Kimm and her daughter-in-law Gail Kimm, two brothers, Richard James of Hinton, Alberta and Edward James of Edmonton, Alberta, as well as many nieces and nephews in Alberta and British Columbia. Rachel has made many friends during her life's long journey from Lac LaBiche in Northern Alberta to Calgary, Winnipeg, Toronto, Ottawa, Timmins and finally Fredericton. Rachel was an avid gardener and reader. She belonged to a local Art Club and was also a participant in a women's Book Club. She was also a Lifetime Member of the Lord Beaverbrook Art Gallery. Rachel was also one of the founding members of the Fredericton Botanic Garden Association. Rachel also had a strong passion for her Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. She has been an active participant at many levels in her local church at Christ Church Cathedral for more then four decades. She was also an honorary member of the Guild of St. Joseph. Rachel will be dearly missed by her family and wide circle of friends.
A memorial service will be held at Christ Church Cathedral on Thursday, January 5th at 2:00 pm. The Very Rev. Keith Joyce will officiate with Canon T.A. Smith assisting. In lieu of flowers a donation of your choice to any of the reputable World Children's Feeding programs or the Cathedral Restoration Fund would kindly be appreciated.
