HILDA DORIS ANTHONY
1922 – 2011
It is with great sadness that the family of the late Hilda Doris Anthony announce her passing at the Valley Vista Seniors Home in Springdale on December 23, 2011 at the age of 89. Hilda was a member of the Salvation Army. Predeceased by her husband George Anthony. Left with fond and loving memories are her sons – Bruce (Michelle) of Pilley’s Island and Garry of Pilley’s Island and daughters – Bernice (Lorne Henstridge) of Triton, Audrey (Lloyd Crewe) of Pilley’s Island and Karen (Dennis Vincent) of Pilley’s Island. Also leaving to mourn sisters – Rita Holloway, Georgina Boyd, Elsie Dawe; brothers – Leslie Oake and Boyce Oake; 14 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. Majors Marvin & Vera Youden Oxford conducted the funeral service from the Salvation Army Citadel in Pilley’s Island on December 28, 2011. Interment was at the Salvation Army Cemetery. Pallbearers were her sons – Bruce Anthony, Garry Anthony and grandsons – Stacey Henstridge, David Vincent, Ricky Crewe and Monte Anthony. Honorary pallbearer was grandson Garry Vincent.
