Marguerite Saunders

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Marguerite Saunders announce her passing at the Central Regional Heath Care Center in Grand Falls-Windsor on January 6, 2012, at the age of 71. Marguerite was a member of the Holy Trinity Anglican Church Women, Altar Guild and Senior Choir, the Exploits Valley 50+ Club, Beta Sigma Phi, and the Cancer Survivors Choir. Marguerite retired from the Grand Falls-Windsor Academy Elementary. Predeceased by her grandparents, George and Martha Sanders; parents, William J. and M. Beatrice Short; her husband, James S. Saunders; her in-laws, Llewellyn and Theresa Saunders; son-in-law, Michael Buckle; cousin, George Sanders; sister-in-law, Joyce (Saunders) Whelan, special partner and friend, Jerry LeDrew, and Uncle Reginald and Aunt Alice Sanders. Left with fond and loving memories, her daughter, Elizabeth Saunders-Buckle and granddaughter, Stephanie Buckle, both of Corner Brook. Also leaving to mourn, her brother, Hubert (Marina) Short of St. Johns; brother-in-law, Lloyd (Suzanne) Saunders of Cornwall, ON; sisters-in-law, Jean (Eric) Lane of Glovertown and Terri Saunders (Trevor Harrison) of Lethbridge, AB; The LeDrew family, special cousin, Ruth Sanders, nieces, nephews, a large extended family and wide circle of friends. Reverend Randy Lockyer conducted the funeral service at the Holy Trinity Church on Tuesday January 10, 2012. Interment was at the Anglican Cemetery on Union Street. Pallbearers were members of the Masonic Lodge Northcliffe; Verdon Young, George LeMoine, John Matthews, Allan Miller, Terry Head and Bill Melvin. In lieu of flowers, donations in Marguerite's memory may be made to Holy Trinity Anglican Church Memorial Fund. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Jim Maidment of Central Funeral Homes in Grand Falls-Windsor.
