McGUIRE, MARIE - It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Oleda (Marie) Mary McGuire of Nackawic, NB on Tuesday, January 10, 2012 at the age of 79 years, 3 months. Beloved wife of Linwood McGuire. Survived by daughter Beverley (Harold) Ketch of Jacksontown, NB, son Larry (LeeAnn) McConnell of Jacksonville, NB, daughter Marilyn (Chuck) Wilson of Oakville, NB, daughter Elizabeth Tibbits of Cambridge, ON. Marie was predeceased by daughter Jane Olmstead (1993). Step-children Donna (Jimmy) Stairs of Nackawic, NB and Marlene (Allison) Whitehead of Fredericton, NB. Gram will be lovingly remembered by grandchildren Marty (Jocelyn) Ketch, Rebecca (Wes) Burns, Bill (Nichole) Wilson, Joseph Tibbits, Rob (Ashley) Olmstead, Virginia (Mike) Rayment, Gerald (Katelyn) Tibbits, Ross Wilson, HelenMarie Wilson, McKenzie McConnell. As well, step-grandchildren. The treasured name, Gram, became Mam by the great-grandchildren that she so loved as individuals; Lydia Ketch, Jennifer Ketch, Kali-Jane Olmstead, Kelsey Burns, Kenan Burns, Brooke Rayment, Roxy Tibbits. “Mam” was glad to know of the expected arrival of the next two great-grandchildren early in 2012. Also, step-great-grandchildren. Marie was born on October, 12th, 1932 to Oscar and Mary (Franklin) Sharpe in Jacksonville, NB. She was the first daughter and second eldest of five children. She is also survived by her younger siblings, Ruth (Melvin) Kurt of Ontario, Gerald (Cathy) Sharpe of Newfoundland, Deannie Long of Maine, sisters-in-law Stella Sharpe, Shirley Marshall, Donna Wallace, Jean (Jim), Mavis; and numerous extended family. Marie is predeceased by both parents; Oscar Sharpe (1974) and Mary Baker (2009); and elder brother Ralph Sharpe (2001).
Resting at the Scott Funeral Home, 815 Main Street, Woodstock, NB with visitation on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. Funeral Service will be held on Thursday at 2 pm from the Scott Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. James Rhyno will be officiating with internment in the Nackawic Cemetery at a later date. If desired donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or a memorial of the donors choice. www.scottfh.com
