It is with great sadness that the family of the late Melita Hale announce her passing at the Central Newfoundland Regional Health Care Center in Grand Falls-Windsor on January 6, 2012 at the age of 85 years. Melita was a member of the Comfort Cove-Newstead Salvation Army. Predeceased by her husband, John; son, William; and granddaughter, Amanda. Left with fond and loving memories are her sons, Irving (Glenda) of Springdale, NL; Kerry (Viola) of Bowmanville, ON; and her daughter, Betty (Joe) of Phillips Head, NL. Also leaving to mourn are her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Capt. George Crocker conducted the funeral service at the Salvation Army on January 9, 2012. Interment was at the Salvation Army Cemetery. Pallbearers were Darrin Hart, Dean Hart, Brandon Hart, Lemuel Hale, Sterling Brenton and Barry Head.
