SVINGEN - Svingen, Margaret Mae (nee Fowler) Passed away on January 9, 2012 at Extendicare in Moose Jaw, SK. Margaret was predeceased by her husband Albert “Blondie” (1976) and by her sister Ellen (Julius Szigety), brothers Alphonse (Cecile), Charles (Bertha), Lawrence (Mabel), George, Albert, Harry and grandson Darren Svingen. She is survived by her children Harry “Ike” (Betty) Svingen of Airdrie, AB, Louise Svingen of Moose Jaw, Melvin Svingen of Okotoks, AB, Murray Svingen (Louise Todd) of Wood Mountain, SK, Greg Svingen (fiancée Glorianne Jones) of Mankota, SK, Albert (Vivianne) Svingen of Moose Jaw, SK, and Inez Lochart of Medicine Hat, AB; her grandchildren Tracey Graf of Swift Current, David Svingen (Heather Irvine) of Carstairs, AB, Randi (Greg) DeBruyne of McCord, SK, Dalise (Marlon) Hector of Moose Jaw, SK, Dana (Cherrylene) Jones of Tuxford, SK, Tara (Michael) Johnston of Moose Jaw, SK, Cody Jones (Kristen Neufeld) of Saskatoon, SK, Justin Brisebois of Ferland, SK, Aaron Brisebois of Ferland, SK, Jeremy (Kim) Simpson of Kyle, SK, Leif Svingen of Moose Jaw, SK, Rhett (Stephanie Overs) of Langham, SK, Jessica Lochart of Medicine Hat, AB, Carla Lochart ( Leigh Noble) of Medicine Hat, AB, Dallas Lochart of Medicine Hat, AB and 21 great-grandchildren; and one sister-in-law Vivian Fowler of Eyebrow, SK, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Margaret was born on Oct 1, 1918 in Reliance, SK to Charles and Marie Fowler. She attended school in the Reliance District as well as Montmarte, SK, and then went on to St Boniface School of Nursing from 1936-1939. Margaret worked as a nurse in Lafleche, Gravelbourg, Leader, Ponteix, Mankota, Kincaid Hospitals and Home Care in Moose Jaw. Margaret’s greatest accomplishments in life included being a very devoted, compassionate, knowledgeable, trusted and dedicated nurse, as well as an untiring, diligent, generous, uncomplaining proud mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. The family is thankful and most appreciative of the tender care given over and above the call of duty by Chez Nous, Pioneers Lodge, Extendicare, as well as MJUH Emergency. A Memorial Service will be held at Parkview Funeral Chapel on Saturday, January 14, 2012 at 1:00 pm. Interment will follow at a later date in Mankota, SK.
