MADDEN, ANNIE B. - Surrounded by her loving family, Annie Beatrice Madden passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 18, 2012 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. Annie was 86. Born in Barker’s Point, N.B. on May 7, 1925, she was the daughter of the late John L. and Beryl N. (Graves) Wasson. Annie was a homemaker most of her life but in her earlier years she worked for Willett Fruit Company. She was a member of St. Anthony’s Roman Catholic Church. Annie leaves behind her loving and devoted husband of 64 years, Harry S. Madden; two daughters, Susan Rowan (Burt) of Jasper, Alberta and Nancy Allen (Brian) of Newmarket, Ontario; two sons, David Madden (Nancy) of Quispamsis, N.B. and Brent Madden (Ruth) of Fredericton; five grandchildren, Jeff Madden (Heather), Robert Madden (Rachel), Mark Madden (Tara), Ryan Madden (Brittany) and Madison Allen; one great granddaughter, Hannah Madden; a sister Shirley Ellis (Roy) of Lucan, Ontario; nieces and nephews. Annie was predeceased by her parents and siblings Ruby Rickard, Ethel Waddington, Roberta Whitlock, Hazel Pollard, Frank Wasson, Mae Hansen and Arthur Wasson.
The family will receive condolences at Bishop’s Funeral Home, 540 Woodstock Road, Fredericton on Sunday, January 22, 2012 from
2:00 to 4:00 P.M. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday, January 23 at 11:00 A.M. from St. Anthony’s Roman Catholic Church with Father Monte Peters as celebrant. Interment in Sunny Bank Cemetery at a later date. The family has designated the N.B. Heart and Stroke Foundation, the N.B. Lung Association or a charity of your choice for memorial contributions.
