It is with broken hearts that we announce the passing of Tina Conrad, on Friday, Jan. 20, 2012, at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney, with her loving husband by her side.
Born in Neils Harbour, she was the daughter of Mrs. Tina (Dixon) Fitzgerald, Sydney, and the late James Vincent Fitzgerald.
Tina was a supervisor at Tim Hortons and was employed for many years at Kenny’s Pizza.
Besides her mother, Tina is survived by her husband, Wayne Conrad; children, Ashley Powell (Joey), Stephen Powell, Genivieve Walker, her pride and joy her grandchildren, Hannah and Austin. She is also survived by her brother, Stewart Fitzgerald (Ella); sisters, Glenda (Karl) and Colleen (Harry); mother-in-law, Marjorie Conrad; brothers-in-law, Donald, David, Eugene (Sarah); sisters-in-law, Marion, Danielle and Joan (Gerald); as well as nieces, nephews, uncles, aunts and cousins.
Besides her father, Tina was predeceased by her sister, Bernadette Hawley, her children’s father Bill Powell, grandparents, George and Elizabeth Fitzgerald and John and Mary Dixon, father-in-law, Calvin Conrad, brother-in-law, Michael MacKenzie.
Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held Sunday, Jan. 22, 2012, at the S.W. Chant & Son Funeral Home, 564 Alexandra St., Sydney, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A memorial service will take place 2 p.m., Monday, Jan. 23, 2012, in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Sheldon Chant officiating.
Donations may be made to an educational fund for Tina’ s granddaughter, Hannah.
