NEW GLASGOW/BRIDGEWATER – Mary Georgina Turnbull, 89, Bridgewater, formerly of New Glasgow, passed away suddenly, Tuesday, January 24, 2012 in South Shore Regional Hospital, Bridgewater.
Born in Woodburn, she was a daughter of the late George and Jeannette (Reid) Milne.
Mary was a member of First Presbyterian Church, New Glasgow, where she had served in the nursery for many years. She was a member of the IODE, Dr. Caroline Carmichael Chapter, New Glasgow. Mary was employed with Sears Canada in the catalogue division for many years. She enjoyed sewing, gardening and working the elections. Mary was a loving mother and grandmother, and was extremely proud of all their accomplishments.
Surviving are her daughters, Patricia Bustin, Pleasantville; Heather Karook, Almonte, Ont.; sister, Marguerite Olson, Daysland, Alta.; brother, John (Helen) Milne, Woodburn; grandchildren: Scott Bustin, Sarah Karook, Andrew Bustin, Amy Bustin; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband Robert Gilmore “Bob” Turnbull.
The family will receive visitors 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Friday in P. & K. MacDonald Funeral Home, New Glasgow. Funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday in First Presbyterian Church, New Glasgow with Rev. Dr. Glen Matheson officiating. Interment will be in Castle Hill Cemetery, MacLellan’s Brook at a later date.
Family flowers only. Donations may be made in Mary’s memory to any charity of choice.
