Norma (Nomie) MacTavish was the only child born to Willa and Ingolf Savig on February 20, 1939. She was born in the Old St Joseph Hospital in Dawson Creek. In the first 6 years of her life the family moved from Upper Cutbank to Bonanza area and finally settled in Rolla, BC. Having no siblings and rarely able to see her cousins from Saskatchewan, Nomie
absorbed many of the people of Rolla as her family.
Nomie married Marnel MacTavish on December 26, 1959. Lori was born in 1961 and Grant was born 1962.
Nomie passed away on Monday, December 26, 2011 in Dawson Creek at the age of 72 years.
Nomie is survived by her loving husband; of 52 years Marnel, Daughter; Lori (Barry), Son; Grant, Granddaughters; Kirsten, Lindsay & Kelsey.
Nomie is predeceased by her parents; Willa and Ingolf Savig.
A Funeral Service was held on Saturday, December 31, 2011 at 1:00 pm at the Bethel Pentecostal Church, Dawson Creek. Rev. Barbara Pilozow officiated. Interment followed in the Brookside Cemetery.
Nomie will be missed by all those who knew and loved her. The family wants to thank you for all the friendship, love and fun that you have added to Nomie’s life and for all the support that you have shown to them at this difficult time.

  70s, when Norma and I had such a great working relationship. She must also have endeared herself to many students over the years.
